At the heart of Music for the Senses is Guitar Art which will see more than 50 acoustic and electric transformed by artists into individual artworks which will be displayed in shop windows and venues around the city.

At the end of the trail, these guitars will be auctioned to raise money for grassroots music projects and venues throughout Greater Manchester via a dedicated music fund managed by charity partner, Forever Manchester in collaboration with key music partners in the city.

The open call for Music for the Senses has now ended. Thank you to all the artists who submitted designs.

What’s next?

A panel of project representatives will review and shortlist submissions based on creativity, feasibility, and alignment with the event’s vision.

Shortlisted designs will be showcased to sponsors at an exclusive event on Tuesday 19 May 2025. Sponsors will select their design and selected artists will be commissioned to bring their design to life on a physical guitar.

The guitars will be displayed across Manchester for 8 weeks, from 7 July – 31 August 2025.
