Great Tail Trail

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
5 April 25  – 1 June 25
Julia's House
Overview

From 5 April to 1 June 2025, 45 giant tail sculptures made a splash across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole, raising awareness and vital funds for Julia’s House, the Dorset children’s hospice charity. These striking artworks were installed along the coastline, in town centres, and throughout local parks and celebrated the region’s culture, landmarks, and natural beauty.

Schools, nurseries and youth groups also got involved, each adopting and decorating their own smaller Tiny Tail sculpture, which became part of the main trail.

At the end of the trail, a special farewell event on 14-14 June will bring all the sculptures together for one final showcase. Afterwards, the large sculptures will be auctioned at a dedicated event on 20 June to raise further funds for Julia’s House.

About Julia’s House

Julia’s House is the local charity dedicated to supporting the families of children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions in the heart of the community in Dorset and Wiltshire. Many of these children require round-the-clock care, which has a huge impact on family life.

Proceeds from The Great Tail Trail will be helping Julia’s House continue to provide its vital care and support.
