Overview

Snailspace Brighton and Hove was the much-anticipated follow up to the hugely successful Snowdogs by the Sea.

The sculpture provided a wonderful canvas, crucial for an artistic city like Brighton, and the motto #BeMoreSnail was truly embraced.

Fifty giant snails took their place in both iconic locations around the city and a few unexpected spots in autumn 2018. They were on the Snailway for eight weeks until they reunited for a spectacular farewell. Ahead of Christmas, they were auctioned to raise more than £230,000 for Martlets before taking up residence in their forever homes.
