Get ready to find the flock as Ōtautahi-Christchurch’s most baa-rilliant art adventure comes to town. For 10 weeks from mid-January 2027, Shaun the Sheep sculptures will transform Christchurch’s streets, parks, and public spaces into a vibrant, free, open-air gallery.

Each big Shaun will be ewe-niquely brought to life by talented local artists and sponsored by local businesses, and Little Shauns will be decorated by schoolchildren and community groups, bringing creativity, colour and a little mischief to the city.

Once the trail is over, each big Shaun will be auctioned off with proceeds going to charity.

The Big Sheep Trail proudly supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Christchurch, helping raise awareness and funds to create life-changing mentoring ‘friendsheep’ for local tamariki and rangatahi (children and young people).
