Cambridge Standing Tall

21 March 24  – 2 June 24

In spring 2024, Cambridge is home to a herd of 31 ginormous Giraffe sculptures, forming a spectacular free art trail.

We have teamed up once again with Break and Cambridge BID to bring a second Wild in Art event to the city after the huge success of Cows About Cambridge in 2021.

Each large sculpture has been designed and decorated by talented artists and they are joined by a mini herd of Giraffes, decorated by local schoolchildren and community groups involved in the trail’s learning programme.

The towering trail is completely free to discover from 21 March to 2 June and will encourage visitors to gaze up at spectacular artwork and explore new places while supporting Break, a charity working in Cambridgeshire to raise the aspirations of the county’s young care leavers.

Download the official app below to follow the trail. Physical maps are also available at several hubs including Hilton Cambridge City Centre, Heffers Bookshop and Gonville Hotel.

Get the official app

The official Cambridge Standing Tall app is available to download to follow the trail.

The app is your hub for the trail, where you’ll unlock and collect all the sculptures, vote for your favourites, explore events and gain rewards.

The app is £1.99 and the proceeds go to support Break and their work with young care leavers.

The charity auction

Wednesday 19 June, Graduate Cambridge

Once the colourful giraffes have been herded off the streets, 31 Large Gs and 6 Mini Gs will be all up for grabs at the charity auction, which will raise vital funds for Break.

Bidding is available in person and online.

About Break

Break makes life better for children and young people on the edge of care, in care and leaving care. Working across East Anglia, the charity firmly believes that every child, no matter their start in life, deserves a bright future.

Starting by building and earning trust, and then providing opportunities for young people to engage with, Break’s aim is to walk with those they support every step of the way to independence. And the support doesn’t stop there, a lifelong offer means the charity is there whenever and wherever they’re needed.
