Hairy Highland Coo Trail

Perth and Kinross
28 June 24  – 6 September 24
Children's Hospices Across Scotland

Overview

We’re delighted to share that we are bringing a brand new Wild in Art trail to Perth and Kinross in the summer 0f 2024.

The Hairy Highland Coo Trail is being run in partnership with Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) and Perth & Kinross Council. The trail will feature 30 sculptures in total, with each coo sponsored by local businesses and decorated by artists.

As part of the launch on Wednesday 20 September 2023, a full size sculpture painted by Lenzie artist, Laura Henderson, and featuring the CHAS alphabet, was unveiled along with two mini coos painted by children and families at the Rachel and Robin House hospices.

The trail can be enjoyed by the public from 28 June to 6 September next year, with the sculptures highlighting the cultural gems of the Perth and Kinross-shire region. After the event, the coos will be auctioned off to raise vital funds for CHAS in support of children with life-shortening conditions and their families.

There are still opportunities for local businesses to join the herd and sponsor a coo. If you would like to find out more, please contact Project Manager Hayley Smith at cootrail@chas.org.uk.

“We are so excited to launch our Hairy Highland Coo Art Trail, which will see 30 Highland Coo sculptures, all individually painted by local artists, roam across the beautiful Perth and Kinross-shire region.

“This event will showcase the beauty of the region far and wide, bring together communities, artists, families and local businesses and encourage people to become tourists in the area, all while raising significant funds for CHAS at the same time.”
