Lions on the Loose

St Clare Hospice has brought an exciting Wild in Art event to Harlow, Epping and Loughton in summer 2026 – a vibrant celebration of art and community, brought to life in a truly memorable way.

Lions on the Loose is a free, family-friendly art trail showcasing a pride of lion sculptures, each uniquely decorated by artists. Alongside them, smaller lion sculptures decorated by local schools and youth groups are on display.

The sculptures are placed throughout Harlow, Epping and Loughton, inviting residents and visitors alike to explore the towns, enjoy time with loved ones, and experience their surroundings from a new perspective.

The trail will conclude with a spectacular farewell event and charity auction in autumn 2026, where each large lion will be auctioned off to raise vital funds for St Clare Hospice’s specialist care.

The Lions on the Loose Grand Auction takes place on Thursday 24 September 2026, when the magnificent pride will go under the hammer in a special evening celebrating the success of the trail and raising vital funds for St Clare Hospice.

This is your chance to bid for your favourite Lion and take home a truly unique piece of the trail. Each sculpture has been individually designed, which means every Lion is a one-of-a-kind work of art that cannot be bought anywhere else.
