Trail with a Tale

Royal Tunbridge Wells
Summer 25

From July 2025, Royal Tunbridge Wells will be transformed by individually designed sculptures from the classic tale of the tortoise and the hare, creating a journey that will be free, family-friendly and open to all.

Each large sculpture will be designed and decorated by specially-commissioned local and national artists. There will also be plenty of opportunities for local schools, organisations and the community as a whole to get involved. There will be complimentary learning programme available for schools and community groups, who will be able to decorate smaller sculptures for display.

At the end of the trail, the large sculptures will be auctioned to raise much-needed funds for Demelza, a charity providing clinical care and emotional support to children facing serious or life-limiting conditions across the south east.
