Trunks Across the Thames

Thames Hospice’s first Wild in Art trail brings a colourful herd of elephants to Slough, Eton and Windsor for the summer.

Every large elephant is decorated by a different artist, including Charlie Mackesy, author and illustrator of The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. They are joined by herds of baby elephants painted by schools and groups.

The trail covers five main areas – Windsor & Eton, Windsor Great Park, Slough Trading Estate, Slough Central and Maidenhead. Complete it all in a single day or take your time exploring over several visits.

Trunks across the Thames concludes with the herd coming together for a farewell event at the Royal Windsor Racecourse on 26 September.

Then on 15 October, a grand auction evening will take place at De Vere Beaumont House where each large elephant will be auctioned to raise money for Thames Hospice and its vital free specialist care to people with life-limiting conditions.
