Elmer's Great North Parade
In summer 2019, Elmer’s Great North Parade took over Tyne and Wear with a spectacular art trail featuring 50 big and 114 little individually designed elephant sculptures based on the much-loved Elmer character.
Elmer’s Great North Parade was organised by and raised vital funds for St Oswald’s Children’s Hospice, a charity providing care, love and support to babies, children and young adults with complex needs.
The Elmer sculptures raised a staggering £182,200 at auction to support the work of St Oswald’s.
About Elmer the Patchwork Elephant
Written and illustrated by celebrated children’s author and artist David McKee, the Elmer books have been translated into more than 60 languages and now new books, toys and clothing add to the world of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant.
