About the sculpture

This design is a celebration of the beauty of roses but is equally a celebration of the multitude of organisms which live alongside them. These insects pollinate the flowers of fruit trees, feed on plant debris and provide food for garden predators which we all love like song thrushes. This design is a reminder that nature will always finds its own balance when we let it!

About the Artist

Cathy Simpson is a very experienced painter and illustrator; she has exhibited her work with many local and national art societies and has also contributed to several Wild in Art and other public art trails. Cathy has a particular interest in environmental issues and wildlife conservation.
