A brand new art trail took Croydon to new heights to celebrate the London Borough of Culture 2023.
In collaboration with Croydon Business Improvement District (BID), the Wild in Art sculpture trail came to Croydon town centre’s open spaces from 21 August until 27 October 2023.
Decorated by local artists and communities to celebrate Croydon’s cultural diversity, the herd of Giraffe sculptures formed a free 10-week art trail of discovery for locals and visitors to explore and enjoy.
After a farewell weekend on 11-12 November, where all the sculptures could be seen together, they went auction to raise money for national charity Crisis, working locally to end homelessness with their Skylight Croydon centre.
was raised through the sale of the large Giraffe sculptures for Crisis Skylight Croydon, enabling Crisis to provide vital support to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The centre is located in the heart of the borough and offers essential support with housing, employment, health and wellbeing.

App players voted for their favourite Croydon Stands Tall sculpture and Fleur came out head and neck above the rest!
Created by artists Becky Smith, Fleur is a golden eye-catching design that transforms into a unique glow in the dark sculpture come night-time.
Fleur was created using gold leaf, acrylic paints, and a specialised glow in the dark UV paint, inspired by the artist signature viral golden floral designs.
