Dartford Bear Hunt
The Borough of Dartford is set to be transformed in summer 2026 as thirty Big Bear Sculptures and thirty Bear Cubs, designed by local artists, schools and community groups, will appear across the town’s public areas.
Inspired by the award-winning animation based on the beloved children’s book ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen and illustrator Helen Oxenbury, the trail will run for eight weeks from July to September 2026 and is raising awareness and funds for local hospice care.
ellenor, a leading Kent hospice supporting children and adults with life-limiting conditions, has joined forces with Dartford Borough Council, Wild in Art, and Walker Books/Lupus Films to bring We’re Going on a Bear Hunt to life across the Borough of Dartford.
Inspired by the timeless charm of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt,’ the trail promises to bring moments of joy, reflection, and connection to the community, while raising vital funds for families receiving hospice support.

In support of ellenor
Dartford Bear Hunt is created in partnership with ellenor, a hospice charity providing vital support to patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses in North Kent and Bexley.
All proceeds from the trail will benefit ellenor including the charity auction, where all of the large bear sculptures will be sold to help fund local hospice care.
