Find the Flock at Tatton Park

Shaun the Sheep: Find the Flock came to Tatton Park’s 50 acre gardens in spring 2024.

From 29 March until 23 June, visitors to the iconic gardens, one of the North West’s largest visitor attractions, discovered 12 colourful Shaun the Sheep sculptures grazing in new pastures.

Six of the Shaun sculptures previously visited Clumber Park in 2023 and there were six brand-new designs to seek out.

The supersized Shaun the Sheep sculptures have been designed and painted by local and regional artists, some inspired by the flora and fauna you’ll find in the gardens from around the world. Look out for a Botanical inspired Shaun grazing near the Fernery and a blossoming Shaun framed by the Japanese garden Cherry blossoms ….can ewe find them all?

The Fabulous Flock

The twelve Shaun the Sheep sculptures featured on the trail were created by Gayani Ariyaratne, Katy Dynes, Kelly Ma, Marnie Maurri, Jane Mota at Studio Glen, Donna Newman, Jessica Perrin, Mik Richardson, Becky Smith, Megan Smith-Evans, Tim Sutcliffe and Wild in Art Studio.

Working with Wild in Art and the Shaun the Sheep trail has been fantastic. The team are friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating and it has been really easy to put everything in place. The trail has been a huge draw, both for returning and local visitors but also in terms of attracting a whole new audience, resulting in a significant increase of 148% in visitors numbers compared to last year’s exhibition. It’s been great to have the flexibility to theme the trail to our local landscape and context, creating a bespoke experience. Feedback and reviews have been more than we could have hoped for, and we’ve felt the impact extended dwell time, and additional spend in our café and retail offers. We’ve seen an increase in our online traffic relating to the trail content as well – overall a huge success!

Working with Wild in Art was a pleasure from start to finish, they made the process really straight forward and they were on hand for any questions or valued opinions. We knew Shaun the Sheep would be a great fit for our audiences at Tatton Park – and what really surprised us were the amount of adult only groups enjoying the artwork, appreciating the garden setting and reminiscing about Shaun – it made a lot of our visitors smile! The trail resulted in a generous uplift in overall garden entries, with a 34% increase from the previous year.
