Overview

Lions on the Loose

St Clare Hospice is bringing an exciting Wild in Art event to Harlow and Epping in summer 2026 – a vibrant celebration of art and community, brought to life in a truly memorable way.

Lions on the Loose will be a free, family-friendly art trail showcasing a pride of 30 life-sized lion sculptures, each uniquely decorated by artists. Alongside them, smaller lion sculptures decorated by local schools and youth groups will also be on display.

These striking sculptures will be placed throughout Harlow and Epping, inviting residents and visitors alike to explore the towns, enjoy time with loved ones, and experience their surroundings from a new perspective.

The trail will conclude with a spectacular farewell event and charity auction in autumn 2026, where each large lion will be auctioned off to raise vital funds for St Clare Hospice’s specialist care.

In partnership with St Clare Hospice

St Clare Hospice is a charity providing specialist palliative care to improve the lives of people affected by a life-limiting illness in West Essex and the borders of East Hertfordshire.

By hosting this trail across Harlow and Epping, the charity is aiming to raise awareness of the hospice, break down barriers and bust myths about hospice care, and raise much-needed funds to support its charitable work.
