We joined forces with the National Literacy Trust and Stoke-on-Trent City Council to bring our iconic BookBench sculptures to the city as part of Stoke Reads, a campaign to promote reading and boost literacy levels.

The BookBench project celebrated the city’s creativity and encouraged children and families to talk about books and read together.

Visitors found twenty BookBenches decorated by schools and community groups with designs inspired by books. They were on display at cultural and leisure venues across Stoke-on-Trent.

At the end of the event the BookBenches were returned to their respective school or community group where they became a lasting feature of a library, book corner or outside learning environment.
