Copperplate

About the sculpture

Inspired by Rembrandt

This festive Elmer is inspired by traditional copperplate printing, which involves a flat sheet of copper being engraved by hand using a chisel called a graver.

Artist Amy has referenced Rembrandt’s beautiful etchings on copper, who, although being best known for painting, also produced over 300 etchings. His innovation within this unconventional use of the materials is still impacting on printmaking today.

About the artist

Amy Bourbon is a Fine Artist who specialises in painting and drawing, specifically large-scale oil painting.

Amy has completed several projects for Wild in Art trails and her auctioned sculptures have raised over £130,000 for charity.
