Elmer's Big Parade Suffolk
From June to September 2019, Ipswich played host to an even bigger and better art trail than when the pigs went wild in 2016; this time featuring 55 individually designed elephants based on the much loved children’s character, Elmer the Patchwork Elephant.
The sculptures were joined by the Learning Herd; 84 ‘young Elmers’, who were displayed in special locations all across town, helping to promote positive messages about inclusivity, courage and friendship.
The Elmer sculptures enabled a fantastic £261,500 to be raised to support the work of St Elizabeth Hospice.

About Elmer the Patchwork Elephant
Written and illustrated by celebrated children’s author and artist David McKee, the Elmer books have been translated into more than 60 languages and now new books, toys and clothing add to the world of Elmer the Patchwork Elephant.
