Havens Hospices
Overview

Havens Hospices’ next Wild in Art public art trail is Waddle-on-Sea, following the successes of Hares About Town in 2021 and Herd in the City in 2023, which raised over £1 million for local hospice care.

Waddle-on-Sea features a huddle of 31 large penguins and 72 baby penguins, which have popped across Southend-on-Sea and Leigh-on-Sea this summer.

The large penguins, each sponsored by a business, will be auctioned off at the end of the trail to raise vital funds for Havens Hospices’ specialist care provided by Fair Havens and Little Havens, which thousands of local families rely on when diagnosed with a complex or incurable condition.
