Walking with The Snowman™

In winter 2022, we discovered twelve giant The Snowman™ sculptures, painted by artists with designs inspired by the song ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’, around Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

A new Ten Lords are Leaping was commissioned by local artist Sarah Graham with the help of Year 6 students of her former school, Oughton Primary and Nursery School.

The trail was presented by Cala Homes in partnership with Hitchin BID and North Hertfordshire Council, alongside charity partners such as Samaritans.

Visitors and locals alike could discover the public trail for free from 19 November 2022 until 20 January 2023.

A specially commissioned Ten Lords A Leaping

Local artist Sarah Graham’s take on Ten Lords A Leaping was to transform them into ten leaping ginger bread lords.

Sarah visited her old primary school, Oughton in Hitchin, to run a workshop with year 6 pupils for inspiration. She asked each of them to design their own leaping gingerbread lord, which they loved, and has combined elements from their designs into each of the 10 lords featured on the Snowman.
