Calmness
In a digital world that feels hard-wired for distraction, the peacefulness and serenity that comes with calmness sometimes sounds like it resides in a galaxy far, far away. The first step to calmness is to relax the mind and body. If you’re ever feeling overwhelmed, the method to overcome the madness is actually quite straightforward: inhale, hold and let it all go. Keep calm and carry on.
About the Design
For Guy, his thoughts always lean into nature when thinking of something calming with the rich scents, sounds, colour and forms that you find there. By submerging yourself within it, it can adjust all your senses and give a sense of calm. Focussing on a moment in microcosm such as a late summer breeze that bends the head of a dandelion and the seeds are pushed on their way, a moment of calm in the wild.
About the Artist
Guy Mckinley has been a freelance illustrator for over 20 years, working on brand campaigns, book covers, editorial work, murals and character design for lots of projects, but more recently adding some art direction and storyboarding to that design work on various animation projects. Stylistically he has a strong use of colour, form and clean composition in his work, showing a real passion for the natural world.
